High-Pressure Fogging (HPF)

Evaporative cooling for cow comfort

Product Overview

High-pressure fogging (HPF) systems provide additional cow cooling along with ventilation. Combining micron-sized droplets with high air velocity cools the air which is being directed to the cows. Because the water droplets are so incredibly small, they evaporate before getting the cows or beds wet. High-pressure fogging systems are only activated when the temperature is above 75⁰F (24⁰C) and the humidity at the exhaust end of the barn is <80%.

Fogging systems can be installed as distribution lines along curtain inlets and/or inlet fans, as distribution rings on inlet fans, or on the louvers of circulation fans. They cannot be installed on exhaust fans. Connect HPF systems to a control infrastructure to automate its operation.

High-pressure fogging systems help mitigate heat stress which can increase milk production, dry matter intake, and pregnancy rates.
